Mrs. Vrotny hopes everyone is having a great summer! She has just gotten back from Cleveland, Ohio. Cleveland Ohio was the first place to have a rock band concert. She went to visit the “Rock Hall of Fame “one afternoon. While there she got to hear some very interesting facts about the musicians in the Hall of Fame. One of the facts was that one of the Beatle’s had to soak his guitar strings in oil to protect them, because he couldn’t afford to buy new strings when they were first starting out as a band.
Here is a fun video to see of the song “Hey Jude”, by the Beatles. Mrs. Vrotny was in the square where the video was made. She was there several years ago when London was granted their bid for the 2012 Olympics. There were a lot of people there then, just like in the video.
Have you ever seen so many people singing at once? You don’t need to have a great voice to enjoy singing. These people in the video are just people who gathered on their lunch hour for the video. You can tell that they won’t be auditioning for”Britain’s Got Talent”, but they’re having a good time anyway.
Some people said they felt stressed from work that day, but singing a song with all of them together made them happy, and it uplifted their day. Isn’t it great how music can uplift your day and make you feel better? What songs do you listen to that make you feel better when you’re having a bad day?
